On Monday Dec 2, 2013 my mother Olive Huisman suffered a stroke.  Thanks to the grace of God and outstanding medical care from the physicians and staff at Hershey Medical Center, there was no permanent damage and she was released the following Saturday.  Upon arriving home, she went immediately to her beloved piano and without even removing her coat, she rested her new walking cane on the piano bench and proceeded to play her own arrangement of Silent Night.  When she finished we were all shedding grateful tears.  She just wanted to prove to herself and her family she could still play. 

Special heartfelt thanks to Dr. Balaji Krishnaiah (Dr. "Bala") and Dr. Semphat for their professionalism, wise counsel and compassionate care.  As you can see from this video, the work that you do has a powerful impact on the lives of not only your patients but also their families.  We are profoundly grateful to you.

For her 80th birthday, I bought my mom (Olive Huisman) a Tascam portable recorder.  I created and uploaded a five part series of short instructional videos to teach her how to use it so she could record herself playing her latest hymn arrangements. The video above, part five, was my reminder to her how much these arrangements benefit those who play them and those who hear them.
